A heartbroken dad who found his 'caring and loving' son dead at home is searching for answers over what happened. An inquest was opened into the death of David Horsfield, from Tameside, yesterday (April 3).
The 25-year-old, who was known as Didi to his loved ones, was pronounced dead on January 22. His dad, David Morton, says the tragedy has been 'horrendous to go through for such a young man'.
A post-mortem found Didi had suffered pulmonary aspiration. David, 45, says the 'heartbreaking to read' autopsy report explained that his son had 'basically choked on his own sick' at home in Ashton, but the circumstances of his death remain a mystery.

He told the Manchester Evening News: "For a 25-year-old man, there's got to be more to it than that. He was fit and healthy. He didn't smoke, or drink, or take drugs or anything like that. He was a really clean-living lad.
"He liked to go on walks and stuff like that, he was healthy. He was a typical 25-year-old. He spent most of his time in front of the computer, apart from the time he was in work. We are still looking for answers in terms of why it's happened."
David Horsfield gained the nickname Didi after being small as a child. But from the age of 14 it became somewhat ironic, as Didi grew to the towering height of 6ft 4ins.
David says his son worked with 'dangerous chemicals' in his job as a maintenance technician, and he hopes his death was 'nothing to do with work'. "That would be truly heartbreaking," David said. "At the moment we can't really understand why he's been sick in his sleep.
