In a series that introduced a new Captain America (no, not the one you’re hoping for), a potential sidekick for Falcon, new super-soldier villains, and more tragic backstory for Bucky, people really latched onto a fairly surprising aspect of the first two episodes of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”—just how broke these guys are. And according to the head writer of the series, fans weren’t the only ones that were taken aback by the news that Falcon couldn’t get a loan.

The second MCU show on Disney+, “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier,” has been reckoning with Old Man Steve’s decision to leave the shield behind and retire in “Avengers: Endgame,” but it is also building up a possible bright future from the Marvel Cinematic Universe by introducing the Young Avengers.

Almost exactly two months ago, a report began to circulate that said Chris Evans was going to reprise his role as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, in future Marvel Studios projects. The news was met with a coy denial from Evans, who said, “News to me.” But speaking to EW recently, Kevin Feige went a step further to deny the rumors that Evans is returning to the MCU.

At first glance, we can all pretty much guess the trajectory of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” The six-episode series picks up after the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) deciding whether or not he’s ready to step into the role of Captain America.

With the intense fever spurred by Disney+/Marvel’s WandaVision and the anticipation of Friday’s debut of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Marvel Studios President and Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige was asked again today at the press conference for the new series whether a season 2 is already in the works.

A common complaint about critics and viewers of the “WandaVision” series finale was that it seemingly let Wanda off the hook for essentially torturing and holding the citizens of Westview hostage.

If “WandaVision” was a bold step for Marvel Studios, playing with storytelling structure and expanding the horizons for what the superhero storytelling factory can do, then “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” is the cozy, familliar blanket that you just want to cuddle up with and not worry about Kevin Feige and Co. taking huge risks.

The audition process for a Marvel Studios film has been talked about for years now. Most of the time, as was the case with Tom Holland, there’s a big shroud of mystery surrounding what roles are being auditioned for and what film it might be.
