A team of specialist divers from England are continuing to search for missing grandmother Hazel Nairn who was swept away in the River Don last year.
The 71-year-old was pulled into the river after severe flooding in Monymusk, Aberdeenshire, as she walked her dog on November 18 of last year.
An extensive search party was launched in an effort to locate Hazel but cops called off the search on January 5 and the gran has never been found.
A voluntary group of expert divers, Lancashire-based Beneath the Surface, began a search for hazel yesterday, Aberdeen Live reports.
The group were seen wading through the water and using sonar in the River Don. They were assisted by other volunteers in the north-east including Aberdeen Diving Services Ltd, Aberdeen Sub Aqua Club and Aberdeenshire Drone Services.
Beneath the Surface said "numerous" items of clothing were found on Saturday but they did not belong or were connected to Hazel.
The organisation wrote on social media: "First day of a search is always slow starting as we familiarise ourselves with the area.
"We do as much pre-planning from satellite images as possible, however, it's often the case that the plan changes and adapts from the moment we arrive and examine the area.
"Rivers are especially difficult as areas of interest may quickly become improbable while other new potential areas are located. Accessing certain areas of rivers can also be a challenging logistical nightmare.
"A huge thank you to volunteers from Aberdeen Diving Services Ltd, Aberdeen Sub Aqua Club BSAC 67, Aberdeenshire Drone Services, SLANP and members of the public for their effort, dedication and commitment today and continuing tomorrow (Sunday)."
