EXO’s Kai confirmed to return with new music in November

WINNER member Mino is set to make his acting and big screen debut in the upcoming Netflix movie Seoul Vibe. On November 10, the streaming platform announced Mino’s casting in the forthcoming film in a statement to South Korean news website Sports Kyunghang, noting that he is set to join the cast immediately as the movie starting production in August.The upcoming film was originally announced by Netflix earlier this year in June.

When Netflix series Squid Game was released earlier this year, it quickly smashed all of the streaming giant’s figures and became a global phenomenon. Ever since, diehard fans have been eager to find out if the South Korean series, which tells the story of the brutal children’s games played for big money, would be back on our screens, or whether it was the end of the story.

ONF are set to release new music in the coming weeks before their upcoming military enlistment.Earlier today (November 9), the group’s agency WM Entertainment confirmed that the boyband would be making their return with a new album prior to their compulsory enlistment into the South Korean military in December.“ONF are planning to make a comeback with a new album in early December,” WM Entertainment told MK Sports, as translated by Soompi.

T-ARA will be making their long-awaited return next week.On November 8, South Korean digital content brand Dingo announced that it will be releasing a new single by T-ARA, marking the girl group’s first original release as a group following a four year hiatus. The as-yet-unnamed track is set to drop on November 15 at 6pm KST.Dingo has also released concept images of the quartet for the forthcoming release.

The New York Times, veteran members of the South Korean entertainment industry – such as Crash Landing On You executive producer Jang Young-woo and production house Studio Dragon CEO Kim Young-kyu – commented on the blossoming popularity of Korean content.Jang, who also co-directed or co-produced shows like Mr. Sunshine and Sweet Home, said that he and his team “didn’t have a global reaction in mind” when creating those shows.

Squid Game breakout star Wi Ha-joon is currently in talks to star in the upcoming drama Little Women.Earlier today (October 19), South Korean news outlet JoyNew24 reported that the Squid Game actor had been cast as the lead in the forthcoming series. His agency MSteam Entertainment has since clarified that Wi has received an offer for said role, but that he is still in the process of reviewing it.If cast, Wi will be starring alongside actresses Nam Ji-hyun and Kim Go-eun.

Netflix’s new Korean drama My Name is shaping up to become another hit for the streaming platform.According to data from analytics platform FlixPatrol, the action crime series starring Han So-hee has ranked at Number Four on the charts for the top TV shows on netflix, as of October 18.

Netflix has had some significant successes recently, most notably the top-rated South-Korean drama, Squid Game.
