The chief fire officer at the time of the Manchester Arena bombing said firefighters should have been sent immediately to the scene.

Peter O'Reilly, who retired from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) in 2018, criticised North West Fire Control (NWFC) and said there were 'multi-agency communication failings' as well as failures on the part of individuals - including himself.
