Adlman will become executive vice president of commercial sales and revenue operations. In this new role, he will oversee national sales, linear and digital operations, the FAST/AVOD business team, programmatic sales and advanced advertising. Todd Schwartzman and Tony Song, will lead national sales under his aegis, while Marisa Simon, will lead the linear and addressable operations teams. AMC Networks makes the change as most TV companies are getting ready for the industry’s annual “upfront” sales session, when media companies hope to sell the bulk of their commercial inventory for their next cycle of programming. Adlman will report to Kim Kelleher, who was recently named AMC Networks’ chief commercial officer.
As part of the team’s new structure, Marc Krok, most recently senior vice president of advertising sales and partnerships, will move into a new expanded role as executive vice president of revenue management, leading pricing and planning, direct response sales and sales and partnerships for BBC World News. Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor AMC Networks’ Sentai Filmworks unit reached an agreement with Japan’s Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) that provides exclusive rights for AMC’s anime-focused HIDIVE streaming service to distribute part of MBS’s future programming lineup in all global markets outside of Asia. The pact is Sentai’s biggest-ever deal for anime content, according to the company. The output deal encompasses MBS’s programming slate based on a collection of popular manga and light novel titles. All of the shows will be available exclusively on HIDIVE outside of Asia. Among the shows covered in the Sentai-MBS output is “The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior” (pictured above). The new show, scheduled to premiere in July 2023, is a 12-episode series based on hit fantasy light novel by Tenichi and published by Ichijinsha. The series is being directed by Norio Nitta and written by Deko Akao with animation by OLM.

Fox Corp. and Fox News Channel made the case in two filings in the Superior Court in Delaware that many of the colorful utterances from Fox News stars such as Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity and even some from Fox Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch were beyond the scope of Dominion’s case, and urged the court to reject the company’s call for a summary judgement, or a ruling in Dominon’s favor that would negate the need for a trial. Dominion is suing Fox for $1.6 billion in damages it alleges it is owed after Fox News made false claims about the Dominion’s actions and influence on the 2020 election. It is the second legal proceeding made against Fox News for its coverage of the aftermath of the 2020 race for the White House. Smartmatic, a voting technology company, has filed a massive $2.7 billion suit against Fox News. At issue in the suits, are allegations that Fox News falsely claimed the companies had rigged the election, repeated items about the matter and refused to engage in efforts to set the record straight. The 2020 election was not fixed and its results were certified by multiple legal processes.
