After recent reports of behind-the-scenes issues during filming “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” it does appear the production is officially going on hiatus until 2022. And with the announcement, we’re learning more details about the injuries sustained by star Letitia Wright earlier this year.

One of the biggest news items of 2021 was when Scarlett Johansson took on Disney over a contract dispute regarding the release of “Black Widow” this summer. The lawsuit was the first major attempt by an actor to publicly fight back against a studio that took a film and released it straight on streaming instead of exclusively in theaters.

Judging by the two trailers for the new “Hawkeye” series on Disney+, it appears Marvel Studios is leaning hard into the Christmas comedy angle. It helps when you have an accomplished comedic actor like Hailee Steinfeld being added as a major part of the cast.

It’s the worst reviewed Marvel entry so far. “Nomadland” Oscar winner Chloé Zhao’s movie holds a mere 53 percent on RottenTomatoes. In my review for The Post, I gave it one star.

Marvel Studios is currently continuing to make blockbuster films, but in 2021, the studio ventured into the realm of streaming TV with a series of shows on Disney+. In 2022, it appears the studio is going even further by making at least one TV Special, an untitled Halloween show that is expected to air next October.
