Your evening Manchester City headlines for Tuesday, August 30.
Pep Guardiola has Erling Haaland plan
Guardiola has confirmed his plan for Erling Haaland, City's new prolific striker who has six goals and an assist from his four Premier League games so far.
"I tell you now when we have games every three days that Erling will not play, I will play Julian [Alvarez]," Guardiola said recently, reiterating that stance after the Crystal Palace victory on Saturday.
"It's important for us to have a guy like [Haaland], Julian as well, you will see when he plays. Last game in Barcelona he could have scored a hat-trick easily. I see in the training sessions with Julian. He does everything, a guy with an incredible sense of goal. The second goal, a cross, Julian fights because he's there, we need people there."

Txiki Begiristain explains why Man City did not get their way with Julian Alvarez transfer
Manchester City wanted Julian Alvarez to come straight into Pep Guardiola's squad when they signed him in January, the club's director of football Txiki Begiristain has explained.
City completed the unexpected signing of Alvarez towards the end of the January transfer window when they agreed to pay River Plate £14m for the young striker. However, the terms of the deal stipulated that Alvarez would remain at River on loan for much of 2022, although that date was brought forward to the start of City's pre-season in July.
Speaking in the latest episode of City's Together Again documentary, Begiristain said it was a shame that City could not bring their new signing onboard straight away.
