During his time at Old Trafford, Solskjaer played Aaron Wan-Bissaka on 115 occasions, with Diogo Dalot featuring just 36 times. The Portuguese right-back was also shipped out on loan to AC Milan by the Norwegian - who did not view the defender as a reliable option for the Reds.
Despite United struggling last term, Dalot suggested in May that it had still been a 'special season' for him as he received more minutes than he previously had. "It's difficult to say it's been a good season when the results are not quite there as we expected," Dalot told Sky Sports.
"But individually it's been good in terms of playing much more. Playing regularly has been one of my biggest desires since I came here and I've fought very hard to get it. It's been good with more minutes than other seasons so I'm very happy with that.
