Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has pledged to keep up the fight in Sunday's derby clash with Manchester City.
United made a rocky start to life under Erik ten Hag losing back-to-back Premier League games to Brighton and Brentford. The latter result in particular led to plenty questioning the desire and commitment within the squad.
But United have answered their critics emphatically since, winning four consecutive games in the Premier League. Varane has been a key part of that renaissance, sitting at the heart of a new-look defence, which also includes new signings Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez as well as long-serving Diogo Dalot.

Sunday sees Ten Hag's men take on arguably their toughest assignment of the season when they make the short trip to the Etihad to take on the champions. Ahead of the mouth-watering clash, World Cup winner Varane has insisted the team will keep battling and also touched on his own personal form.
He said: "At the start of the season, we had to fight on the pitch, we have to continue like that. I had a complete pre-season, I was able to work well on the physical level and I (hope to) continue. I feel better and it shows on the ground."
The early signs of Varane's partnership with Martinez are certainly promising and the pair have spoken effusively about each other.
Earlier this month the Argentine said of Varane: "Everyone knows how good he is. He is a legend for me. I’m really happy to play with him at the back, but every player in the team is ready to play. Every player is doing well and working hard. That’s the important point."
