Erik ten Hag has hailed Cristiano Ronaldo after he scored his 700th career goal in Manchester United's 2-1 win against Everton last weekend. The 37-year-old forward made football history when he struck the winner at Goodison Park, as he reached another incredible milestone in his glittering career.
Ronaldo will be hoping to add even more goals to his tally in the time he has left at Old Trafford, with the expectation that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
The Portuguese forward wanted to leave United in the summer transfer window ahead of another season in the Europa League but could lead the line when they host Omonia in the competition on Thursday night. Ronaldo no longer has the same vital role to play at United, but Ten Hag insists he is happy with the forward's work, in particular his lethal eye for goal.

“It’s phenomenal," the United manager told club media. "And football is [about the] team and we express this in a way – I think Cristiano, he knows we can’t do it without the team but I must say it’s a huge individual performance.
"If you achieve this, it’s incredible. 700 goals for a club and not many players even achieve 700 games, and he scored 700 goals. So I’m really happy for him, really want to tell you that and I congratulate him.”
