Erik ten Hag's future at Manchester United remains uncertain as the team prepares for a pivotal week.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Ineos Group are understood to have analysed potential replacements for Ten Hag should they decide a change of manager is required in the coming months. Brighton coach Roberto de Zerbi is understood to be of interest to United and the Italian is also regarded as one of the frontrunners to replace Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
A well-placed source said Ratcliffe is "not completely sold" on Ten Hag, who presided over United's 10th Premier League defeat of the season to Fulham on Saturday. Figures at United accept there is "noise" around Ten Hag's position but maintain the club can still enjoy a successful season should they win the FA Cup and finish in the top four.

United have lost 15 times this season, were eliminated from European competition altogether when they finished bottom of Champions League Group A and their defence of the League Cup ended at the second hurdle. Fulham inflicted an eighth home defeat of the campaign on United, one shy of the club's most losses at Old Trafford in a single season.
United are sixth and eight points adrift of the fourth and potentially final Champions League qualifying place in the Premier League table. Previous United managers David Moyes and Louis van Gaal were sacked after United failed to qualify for the Champions League, while Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were dismissed in seasons United finished outside the top four.
