“Let It Go” has been a popular musical hit since first making its debut in Disney’s 2013 blockbuster “Frozen”.
However, there’s a new kid on the block that’s stolen the thunder of “Let It Go”: “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”, from new animated Disney film “Encanto”.
As Entertainment Weekly reports, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” has made it to No. 4 on the Billboard charts, topping the No. 5 spot attained by “Let It Go” in April 2014.

According to EW, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is the highest-charting song from a Disney animated movie in 26 years.
The only other songs from animated Disney films to make it into the top five are “Aladdin” hit “A Whole New World”, which hit No. 1 in 1993, Elton John’s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from “The Lion King” (No. 4 in 1994), and Vanessa Williams’ “Pocahontas” song “Colors of the Wind,” which hit No. 4 in 1995.

Chris Willman Music Writer“We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” the surprise hit off the “Encanto” soundtrack, has gone where even “Let It Go” couldn’t: It’s become the first song from a Disney movie to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart since “A Whole New World” from “Aladdin” did it in 1993.It joins the “Encanto” album itself as a chart-topper, as the animated film’s soundtrack remains atop the Billboard 200 chart for the third time in the last four weeks.Some other stats Billboard points out: “Bruno,” solely penned by Lin-Manuel Miranda, becomes the first Hot 100 chart-topper to have been written by a solo writer in more than four years, Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” having been the last. It’s the first time a Miranda tune has topped the chart.
Lin-Manuel Miranda made a virtual appearance on “The Tonight Show”, which led to an embarrassing moment while playing a musical game with host Jimmy Fallon.
“Encanto” features a soundtrack of catchy hits from Miranda that are providing parents with a much-needed respite from Elsa and Co. “It is so refreshing to have something else to listen to,” exulted Riverdale mom-of-two Yael Buechler. “It was time to let ‘Frozen’ go,” she added, noting that “Surface Pressure” from “Encanto” is now more popular with her 3-year-old and 5-year-old than “Let It Go.” “Encanto,” which opened in theaters in November and started streaming on Disney+ at the end of December, tells the story of a quirky 15-year-old Colombian girl named Mirabel Madrigal who’s frustrated that she seems to lack the magical powers that everyone else in her family possesses.
