The eligibility period for this Emmy cycle is June 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024. This reps the second Emmy ceremony in 2024 — because of the impact of the Hollywood strikes, which pushed the 75th Emmys from September 2023 to January 15, 2024. But that ceremony was still considered the 2023 Emmys (just delayed into 2024), while the ABC telecast in September will be the official 2024 Emmys.
The next Emmys mark a return to Sunday for the first time in two years. (In January, the Emmys on Fox was held on a Monday, while the 2022 event on NBC was aired on Monday, Sept. 12.) The current broadcast network “wheel” deal for the Emmys (which expires in 2026) means that this is the first time ABC has aired the telecast since 2020 — in the midst of the pandemic.
