Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has told fans she feels 'lucky' and 'elated' as she celebrates an occasion close to her heart. Lisa, who was born in Bury in Greater Manchester and plays Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap, now lives in Yorkshire where the show is filmed - and August 1 is a day dedicated to her adopted home county.
Posting on Instagram to mark Yorkshire Day, Lisa - who lives in the county with her long-term partner Al - said: "HAPPY YORKSHIRE DAY EVERYONE….. I am now elated to call home and where I’m lucky to work each and everyday @emmerdale #emmerdale I really really do LOVE Yorkshire. Especially now it’s our home again."
And fans returned the sentiment in the comments. "Happy Yorkshire Day to you both! Have a great time," said @beautielady, while @suecrawfordjournalist wrote: "I think you can be considered an honorary Yorkshire woman!"
