Emmerdale star Samantha Giles has officially been able to confirm she is leaving the show after 25 years. It has been rumoured for a while that the actress, known for playing Bernice Blackstock in the ITV soap, will be saying farewell to the fictional Yorkshire village this year.
But Samantha has now been able to confirm herself that she will leave her role, 25 years after her first appearance as the divisive character. Not much is known about her exit from the soap, but she did confirm when she'd be leaving during an appearance on This Morning on Friday (October 20).
She was on the ITV daytime show Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary to discuss her interest in and love of witchcraft but towards the end of their chat, she was asked if she was leaving the soap.

She confirmed she saw and said: "I haven't been able to kind of confirm it, really, until now. I am going. I think my last episode is 14th November, the final episode."
But before that, the soap star had been gushing about her next role as the Wicked Stepmother in an upcoming pantomime production of Cinderella.
Her reason for being on the show, as mentioned, was to speak about how she is a "witch" and that she sells a series of spells to help people manifest what they desire from life. Each "charm and spell" comes with a full set of instructions and Samantha added: "You must do it yourself, that is where the power comes from".
