Emmerdale fans have shared their bafflement as the latest episode saw a character leave the village after 15 years. Jimmy and Nicola King have been trying to prepare their daughter Angelica as she was facing a custodial sentence for accidentally causing the death of Heath Hope on New Year's Eve.
As viewers of the ITV soap will remember, Angel, Heath and his twin sister Cathy were involved in a car accident after the trio ditched the village and stole Wndy Posner's car after the families wouldn't agree to take them into Hotten for a NYE party.
It wasn't until later that April Windsor confessed what had happened to Cathy and Heath's dad Bob and his partner Wendy, and they quickly headed off in pursuit of the kids. It wasn't long before they were horrified to find the car crashed off of the side of a country road.

During Wednesday night's (March 13) Emmerdale, Angel was seen heading to court after the blame of the accident fell to her as she admitted to being the one driving at the time.
The judge confirmed that due to the severity of the crime, there was "no alternative" but to give Angelica a custodial sentence, which would be significantly reduced due to her guilty plea and previous statements. She was sentenced to eight months in a secure children's home, located four hours away from the village in Bristol.
While some Emmerdale fans were left fuming over the sentence, others were confused as to why Cathy was cleared of facing any charges despite helping to steal the car and initially being the one behind the wheel.
