Scots singer Emeli Sande has been forced to call off her wedding just one year after she announced her engagement to pianist Yoana Karemova.
The My Kind Of Love singer came out in April 2022 and announced she and Yoana were engaged in September last year.
But now, Emeli has said that due to her busy schedule, the pair have had to change their plans to tie the knot, writes The Mirror.
The 36-year-old said that the wedding would not go ahead in 2023 as her work schedule is set to ramp up in the coming months. She told the Metro: "We’ve kind of put them on hold until I get this album out and we do the shows this year but we’ll probably start planning next year or early next year."
Emeli was previously married to marine biologist Adam Gouraguine. The pair were childhood sweethearts who met as teenagers and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Montenegro in 2012. However, Emeli ended their marriage after just one year.
Emeli previously said that Yoana was "the one for life". She told Metro: "We met through music and I definitely feel happier than ever. It feels great. For me, true love and having love in your life makes everything fit into place."
She added: "If you don’t really have someone to share it with or someone supporting you behind the scenes, it’s very difficult so now I feel very fulfilled. I just feel like I should fall in love with whoever I fall in love with."
Announcing the news of their engagement, the Next To Me singer posted a photo on Instagram of her wearing a stunning ruby and diamond engagement ring, and captioned the snap: "I said yes!," alongside two heart emojis.
Fans and pals flocked to the comments to congratulate the singer on the amazing news. BBC Radio's Zoe Ball commented: "congrats gorgeous
