Following the poor living conditions of the newly-built properties, the residents launched a 2018 class-action lawsuit, which sought damages against the non-profit organisation and Pitt himself.In 2022, however, another charity, Global Green USA – which also has famous connections and a history of helping rebuild infrastructure in the area – offered to step in and pay a $20.5million (£16.3million) settlement.

It seems the Hollywood star allowed a widowed man to live in his Los Angeles residence until his death at 105, according to actress Cassandra Peterson, best known for her iconic ‘Elvira’ character.Cassandra was the previous owner of the property located in Los Feliz, California, until 1994 when the actor bought it.

Brad Pitt generously helped out his 105-year-old neighbor. The actor, 59, allowed his elderly neighbor to live in a Los Angeles home rent-free, according to People magazine.  Pitt reportedly bought the home for $1.7 million from Elvira of "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark," aka Cassandra Peterson, in 1994 and sold it in March for $40 million. Angelina Jolie's ex-husband was expanding his real estate portfolio, which included the home his elderly neighbor lived in.

Sources tell Deadline that Damson Idris has been tapped to co-star opposite Brad Pitt. Kosinski is directing.

Kosinski will produce the feature alongside seven-time Formula One champion Sir Lewis Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner, and Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films. Ehren Kruger, who did similar honors on “Top Gun: Maverick,” is writing the screenplay.  The racing feature stars Pitt as a former driver who returns to the sport. Idris will play his teammate. Aside from that, engines will be revved, finish lines will be crossed, cars will collide… OK, we really have no idea what happens on or off the track. But since the movie is being made in cooperation with Formula One, the action sequences will likely be a standout.

BreAnna Bell Showtime has announced its forthcoming spy drama, “Ghosts of Beirut,” will make its debut on Friday, May 19, on Showtime’s streaming site and will air on linear on May 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The four-part limited series tells the origin story of 21-year old Mughniyeh (who is also referred to as “The Ghost”), an elusive Lebanese terrorist who evaded capture from the CIA and Mossad for two decades. He was responsible for more American deaths than any other individual prior to 9/11. “Told from the American, Israeli and Lebanese perspectives, the series traces Mughniyeh’s origins from the Shiite slums of South Beirut to his masterminding of the concept of suicide bombers, a deadly tactic that led to his swift rise as the world’s most dangerous terrorist.
