Elle Fanning is opening up about what she made sure to do before signing on to star in Hulu’s The Girl From Plainville series.
The 23-year-old actress stepped out for her interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday (March 30) in New York City.
Elle noted how the show, in which she plays Michelle Carter in the “texting suicide” case, was ripped from headlines.

“I think that this case was a very ripped from the headlines case and ended in the most tragic way that it could. I had to make sure that everyone that was involved was really telling the story in a sensitive way, because I think that it could be very easy to exploit or sensationalize a story like this,” she said.
