Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa channeled this unforgettable ‘90s moment during the GRAMMYs

Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion have gotten super close since collaborating on their new song, “Sweetest Pie.” So, why not reference another iconic music duo while presenting an award at the GRAMMYs?At the ceremony on Sunday, April 3, the duo--who are both previous winners of the GRAMMY for Best New Artist--presented Olivia Rodrigo wiith the honor for 2022. As they announced the nominees for the evening, the musicians threw it back to 1998 to reference an iconic moment between Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.Megan and Dua were wearing matching Versace ensembles, which led to the “WAP” rapper saying, “Not you stealing my look.”“I was told I had the exclusive,” Lipa replied. “I’m going to have to have a talk with Donatella.”That’s when the famous Italian fashion designer emerged from the crowd to work her magic on the dresses.“You know what? Let’s do this,” she told the artists, transforming the ensembles and leaving Dua with a mini skirt and Megan in a thigh-high midi slit, saving them from a fashion faux pas.J Balvin and Valentina Ferrer exude style on the 2022 Grammy red carpetThese are all the Latin nominees and winners at the 2022 Grammy Awards (Updating Live)Kanye West & Olivia Rodrigo could make Grammy historyThe bit was a call-back to a moment from the 1998 Grammy Awards, where Mariah and Whitney presented together in matching Vera Wang wrap dresses.

Liev Schreiber on How Father’s Death Mimics His Character in New Film ‘Across the River and Into the Trees’

Malina Saval Associate Editor, FeaturesPlaying a character in a film who dies by suicide, adapted from a book penned by a famed author who met the same fate, is already a heady experience. But for Liev Schreiber, who tackles the stoically heroic Colonel Richard Cantwell in the big screen version of Ernest Hemingway’s final full-length novel, “Across the River and Into the Trees,” life imitated art — which imitated life — in ways not even Schreiber could have expected.“One of the things that happened to us in this epic, long shoot [in Venice, Italy] is that my father had found a sarcoma on his leg — a very, very rapid [growing] one,” Schreiber told a crowd gathered for a special screening and premiere of the film, directed by Paula Ortiz, at the Sun Valley Film Festival Thursday night.

Egyptian Director Amir Ramses Appointed Cairo Film Festival Chief

Nick Vivarelli International CorrespondentEgyptian filmmaker Amir Ramses, who has tackled controversial social and political themes including pedophilia in works such as “Curfew” and the doc “Jews of Egypt,” has been appointed director of the Cairo Film Festival. The news that Ramses will head Cairo, which is the grande dame of Arab film events, follows shortly after prominent producer Mohamed Hefzy stepped down as Cairo fest president earlier this month.Hefzy was replaced as fest president by veteran Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy, 81, a local megastar, who is taking over the event’s presidency for the second time after a first term between 1998 to 2001. Ramses, who was previously artistic director of Egypt’s El Gouna Film Festival between 2017 to 2021, is now expected to take on a broader role at Cairo extending beyond artistic director into a general manager position.
