Listeners of the sensation feared that the lyrics hinted at issues within his and Cherry's relationship, with many bracing themselves for the bad news that the couple had parted ways.
However, two months after the album’s release, Ed has hinted the marriage is still ongoing as he posted a photo of himself sitting opposite his wife at a dining table.
In the snap, the pair didn't look too cheery as they kept their distance from one another, Cherry pouted for the camera as Ed remained stone-faced.
He included the snap in among a number of other images and videos, along with a caption simply stating: “Virgin dump, more to come.”
Other snaps in the carousel of pictures showed Ed looking happier when he was sat alone on a train, and another showed him flashing a smile while standing, arms outstretched, and clutching a bottle of beer on a beach.
The image of the couple is the first time they've been spotted together since they popped out to celebrate her birthday in April, dining at Ed's restaurant, Bertie Blossoms, in Notting Hill at the time.
