EastEnders set to air grisly post-watershed episodes next week

With the 2020 Tokyo Olympics now a thing of the past, Monday primetime saw a bright future for Katie Thurston on the Season 17 finale of The Bachelorette, which was the evening’s highest-rated and most-watched program, per Nielsen Live+ Same Day fast affiliates. Bringing in a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demo and a total of 4.37 million viewers, The Bachelorette season ender brought ABC to the top for the first post-Olympics primetime.

The Tokyo Olympics were once again the Friday night demo winner, scoring a robust 1.9 and just slightly more than 9 million viewers. Team USA’s gold medal win over Team France was the big draw, as the Kevin Durant-led squad won the fourth consecutive gold for the U.S. in the sport.

NBC’s coverage of the Tokyo Olympics saw its second lowest-rated night on Wednesday, bringing in a total of 11.0 million viewers and an average rating of 2.4 in the 18-49 demo, per overnight numbers. Wednesday, which saw a six tenths drop in ratings and a 24% dip in viewer from Tuesday, remains only slightly above lowest-rated and least-watched night thus far Saturday, July 31 (2.3, 10.7M).
