EastEnders star Ricky Champ delighted fans after he posted a series of pictures reuniting with his former cast members. The soap actor was well known for playing Albert Square’s Stuart Highway on the BBC drama. Despite leaving the show to pursue ambitions in Theatreland, the 42-year-old proved he was still very much part of the family with his latest Instagram upload.
Posing up a storm following his performance in the West End play 2:22 Ghost Story, Ricky revealed a plethora of familiar faces had come to support him on Tuesday night. The star is currently taking on the role of Ben in the stage show thriller that has seen the likes of Cheryl and Lily Allen flex their theatre muscles. He shared four images from the jovial night that featured smiles all round as the EastEnders alumni gathered together.
The first picture showed Ricky with Jake Wood – who played Max Branning in the soap and Jaime Winstone, known for her portrayal of young Peggy Mitchell. Next, shots of the actor with his former onscreen wife Rainie Cross – played by Tanya Franks – thrilled fans as they reminiscent over his time on the show. He shared the collection of images with a caption that read: ‘So nice seeing these lovely faces last night at #222aghoststory xxxx [sic].
’ The star is currently acting in the production that also features One Tree Hill’s Sophia Bush and plays her onstage partner. In the show, Ricky’s part Ben accompanies Sophia’s Lauren to a dinner party where spooky sounds take over. Ahead of his new role, Ricky opened up about the potential for his character to return to EastEnders as it appeared he was leaving the soaps world for good.
