EastEnders’ Letitia Dean teases Phil and Sharon’s future ‘they did love each other once’

After an extended break away from our screens following the fallout of Keanu Taylor’s murder last Christmas, Walford favourite Sharon Watts makes her long awaited return to EastEnders this week - and as expected, brings more than a little chaos with her. As regular viewers will know, Keanu was accidentally murdered last Christmas by Linda Carter, when she stabbed him with a meat fork to stop him from choking Sharon to death, following the revelation that her son Albie wasn’t his.
Consumed by guilt and grief at the loss of her lover, Sharon later fled to Australia with her son, all while leaving the rest of the Walford six to pick up the pieces. Now, as she makes her return to Albert Square to find things just as bad as she left them, actress Letitia Dean has teased what lies ahead for Sharon - including a possible future with Albie’s real father Phil Mitchell.
Touching on Sharon’s current state of mind, Letitia explained: “She’s mourning the death of Keanu, of her relationship and the death of their family unit, so she’s completely overwhelmed by heartache and grief. So, the short answer is, no, she is definitely not coping!” Nor are the rest of The Six particularly thrilled to see her either, with the actress even describing the reception “icy” as Sharon tries to find out that’s been happening in her absence.
“Linda and all of the women think Sharon left them in the lurch to flee to Australia whilst they’ve been panicking and covering this up back in Walford,” said Letitia. “Even though she’s dealing with her own heartbreak, I think Sharon soon realises just how much all of the women have sacrificed, what with Linda relapsing, Kathy losing Rocky by shopping him to the police and Denise struggling to cope and having her
