EastEnders favourite Whitney Dean shows off new hair transformation and fans are obsessed

We’re used to seeing EastEnders’ favourite Whitney Dean with her trademark long, straight dark hair – but a huge change in style for the actress has taken soap fans by storm. Whitney, played by Shona McGarty, 31, has made a subtle change to her appearance, changing her hair colour and embracing her curls in a new shorter do. She posted several photos and a video on her Instagram, showing off her new style, and the new hair has since made an appearance on the BBC soap - leaving fans obsessed.
"Whitney’s hair looks fab #Eastenders." wrote one, while another added: "Whitney's had her hair done. It looks lovely #Eastenders." A third wrote: "Whitney's hair looks gorgeous #EastEnders", followed by three love heart emojis. Fans are used to seeing Whitney with much darker hair and the change in colour to an almost auburn colour has left them obsessed with her new style.
Whilst her hair may have been having a good day, things weren't running as soothly for her character Whitney. Whitney was not in Stacey Slater's good books after she told her brother Ryan, played by Neil McDermott, that the daughter he shares with Lacey Turner’s Stacey, Lily, was pregnant. Lily, played by Lillia Turner, found out she was expecting earlier this year after being admitted to the hospital following a Carbon Monoxide leak on New Year’s Day.
Stacey was mindful of the fact that her reliable ex-husband Martin Fowler (James Bye) has been a dad to Lily for far longer than Ryan has been around, though she explained she intended to tell Ryan at some point. However, Whitney went ahead and told him anyway, leaving Stacey fuming.
