Dua Lipa releases new album from lockdown

In 2017, Moor Mother and noise producer Mental Jewelry linked up for a collaborative EP called Crime Waves. Now, they’ve returned with a collaborative full-length called True Opera. Hear the record below, plus watch Moor x Jewelry’s new video for “Look Alive” (directed by Bob Sweeney).

The-Dream has released Sextape 4. It’s the singer’s follow-up to his 40-song release Ménage à Trois: Sextape Vol. 1, 2, 3 from December 2018. Hear the new album below (via Radio Killa Records).

DaBaby has released his second official album. The Charlotte rapper’s follow-up to 2019’s KIRK is called Blame It on Baby. It features Future, Quavo, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Ashanti. Listen below (via South Coast Music Group/Interscope Records).

Is Whole Lotta Red finally on its way? After years of delays, Playboi Carti's hotly anticipated sophomore album looks to be en route based on his captionless Instagram post late Tuesday night (April 14). 

As teased, the Mountain Goats have released a new album via Merge. This one’s called Songs for Pierre Chuvin. According to a press release, it’s the first time since 2002’s All Hail West Texas that John Darnielle has recorded an album entirely on his boombox. Cindy Lee, the project of former Women frontperson Patrick Flegel, has released a new album called Cat O’ Nine Tails. Check out a preview collage of the record and a video for one song, “I Don’t Want to Fall in Love Again,” below.

Fiona Apple has announced her first album in eight years. Fetch the Bolt Cutters is getting a digital release on April 17. She announced the release date in the video below, which was shared via the Fiona Apple Rocks Tumblr page. That account often posts personal video messages from Apple (including a recent one where she hinted that she was thinking about releasing the album “really soon”). (Apple’s representative confirmed the release date.)

Dua Lipa returns today with her sophomore album, Future Nostalgia. The 11-track project had its release date moved up a week following online leaks and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It includes four recent singles: “Future Nostalgia,” “Physical,” “Break My Heart,” and “Don’t Start Now.” The latter track reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart earlier this month.
