A Mercedes driver has died following a horror crash with a tractor and a van in Perthshire.
Emergency services raced to the A93, near Meikleour, after the alarm was raised at around 11.40am on Wednesday. The crash involved the Mercedes car towing a caravan, a Ford Transit Connect van and a Fendt tractor and trailer.
Ambulance crews attended but the 69-year-old male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. A 69-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, and the 29-year-old male driver of the van were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment to minor injuries.
The road remains closed to allow a collision investigation to be carried out and police are now appealing for information.
Road Policing Sergeant David Farr said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened to contact us as your information could be vital. I would also ask anyone with any dash-cam or CCTV footage that could help with our investigation to get in touch.”
