Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens is barely recognisable from his days as the posh and well-to-do fan-favourite Matthew Crawley in his latest appearance on the red carpet. The British actor, now 39, who recently made a dig at Prime Minister Boris Johnson on The One Show, was part of one of the most beloved couples in the period drama during his days on the ITV show. Matthew fell head over heels in love with Michelle Dockery's Lady Mary Crawley, but their passionate romance came to an abrupt end when Dan left the show.
His character's untimely and tragic death is one that will forever be remembered by Downton fans. Having gone on to star in Hollywood remakes such as Beauty and the Beast and more recently starred in comedies Eurovision and Blithe Spirit, the actor couldn't be further from the role that catapulted him to fame.
Appearing at the premiere of his new STARZ drama Gaslit, Dan rocked a long choppy brunette haircut and 70s moustache as he posed on the red carpet. The actor chose a pair of retro lime green sunglasses, and went even further with his dramatic multicoloured outfit. Wearing a coordinated shirt, button-down blazer, trench coat and trousers, Dan rocked an array of lilac, peach and rose shades in the unusual ensemble.
He then finished the outfit with a pair of red, black and mustard rubber boots. The star also showed off silver rings on his fingers and a bold dark nail polish. Fans are more used to seeing Dan's perfectly-coiffed upper middle class side parting and clean-shaven face.
