Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorNearly five years after the release of their last album, “Everything Now,” the sixth studio album by Arcade Fire, has been confirmed for a May 6, 2022 release via Columbia Records.Titled ‘We,’ the album’s arrival is preceded by first single “The Lightning I, II,” and as a video directed by Emily Kai Bock, which can be seen below.Produced by longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich with the group’s Win Butler and & Régine Chassagne, and recorded in multiple locales including New Orleans, El Paso and Mount Desert Island, the album “paradoxically distills ‘the longest we’ve ever spent writing, uninterrupted, probably ever’ (per the band’s Win Butler) into a concise 40 minute epic – one as much about the forces that threaten to pull us away from the people we love, as it is inspired by the urgent need to overcome them,” the announcement reads.

Arcade Fire have confirmed that they will make their comeback with new single ‘The Lightning I, II’ this week (March 17).The Canadian band last released an album in 2017 with ‘Everything Now’, and have since shared 45-minute track ‘Memories Of The Age of Anxiety’ for a meditation app in 2021, and released a live version of political cut ‘Generation A’ in late 2020.Over the past few weeks, the band have been teasing their return. Earlier this month, a brief snippet of new music appeared on the contact page of the group’s official website.

Aitch has shared a brand new single – watch the video for ‘Baby’ below.The track, produced by Fred Again…, is the Manchester rapper’s first solo single of the year and the latest preview of his forthcoming debut album.‘Baby’ samples Ashanti‘s ‘Rock Wit U (Aww Baby)’, with Aitch adding a contemporary rap feel to the R&B classic.The accompanying video, directed by Zain Alexander Shammas, sees the rapper in Malibu, going through the highs and lows of a relationship. The sun-tinged video features VHS clips of intimate moments, plus a cameo from the rapper’s current girlfriend, Chicken Shop Date’s Amelia Dimoldenberg.Aitch, who presented the award for Best Solo Act In The World with Big Zuu to Burna Boy at the BandLab NME Awards 2022 spoke to NME on the red carpet about the single.“I think everyone’s gonna love it,” he said of the track.

Aldous Harding has shared a new single today, ‘Fever’ – listen to the track below.It’s taken from her upcoming new album ‘Warm Chris’ and follows on from the previously released ‘Lawn‘. The New Zealand musician will release the follow-up to her April 2019 record ‘Designer’ on March 25 via 4AD.‘Warm Chris’ was produced by John Parish (who also produced ‘Designer’ and Harding’s 2017 LP ‘Party’), with all 10 tracks being recorded at Rockfield Studios. Harding’s 2021 single ‘Old Peel’ does not make the final cut, however.The album includes contributions from Sleaford Mods’ Jason Williamson as well as H. Billie Eilish has addressed her 2019 Coachella festival set in which she forgot lyrics and tripped up onstage.The singer, who will headline the Californian festival this April with Kanye West and Harry Styles, spoke in an interview about the resentment she felt about the mishaps at the time.Speaking to V Magazine (via Metro), Eilish said: “I really resent the things that were surrounding me during that period of time. I had that ruined for me by a person, but that’s ok.”Eilish did not state explicitly who this “person” was but, based off scenes from her 2021 The World’s A Little Blurry documentary, she could be referring to her then-boyfriend Brandon Adams.The singer’s Coachella performance is documented in the fly-on-the-wall film, as is her former relationship with Adams whom she split from in June 2019.Her Coachella set saw her forget lyrics to the song ‘All The Good Girls Go To Hell’ as well as trip up on stage.

Harry Styles has been the victim of a break-in, after a man who was previously convicted of stalking the famous singer, was reportedly hit with new charges, entering into his home without authorization and assaulting someone in the process.The dangerous 28-year-old man currently has a restraining order, after being found guilty of stalking Styles, and was banned to be within 250 of the artist, or try to make contact with him directly or indirectly, including social media, as it was stated in court documents back in 2019.Pablo Tarazaga-Orero has now been accused of assault, after once again trying to enter Styles’ home in North London, and assaulting a woman who is part of the singer’s entourage, destroying a vase during the disturbing incident.It has also been reported that the man has to appear at Westminster Magistrates‘ Court, and is being charged with breaching the original restraining order, as he was not allowed to be close to “the victim’s house.” Additionally, he was charged with using violence as he tried to force his way into the property.During the first trial, it was stated that the man had been sleeping close to Styles’ home in London, and the singer offered him money for food.

The festival will take place at its usual stomping grounds at the Empire Polo Ground in Indio, Calif., which will host Stagecoach the following weekend with Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood and Luke Combs headlining.The Goldenvoice events made headlines  after announcing their lift of Covid-19 vaccine and mask mandates — health and safety requirements that are still in place for many other music festivals slated for this year, such as New York City’s Governors Ball.

Billie Eilish has once again temporarily stopped one of her live shows in order to check on the safety of her crowd.While performing at Madison Square Garden in New York City over the weekend, Eilish told her fans: “If you want to sit down, you are allowed. Go ahead, sit down, take a breath.”As shown in footage obtained by TMZ, the singer also asked her fans at the front to “take a step back and give everybody some room down here”.This followed a similar incident at an Eilish concert in Atlanta, Georgia, which saw an audience member suffer a medical emergency.Eilish halted her performance so that the fan could access an inhaler.
