Doja Cat cancels her 2022 BRIT Awards appearance after positive COVID-19 results in her crew

The legal duty to self-isolate after testing positive for coronavirus will end next week, the Prime Minister is due to announce.

The 2022 BRIT Awards took place at London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday night with Little Simz, Dave, and Adele all taking home awards. For the first time the awards removed gender categories and instead focused on genre, with Dave winning Best Hip-Hop/Rap/Grime Act and Little Simz collecting the Best New Artist prize, despite releasing her debut mixtape over a decade ago.

Mark Sutherland If last year’s Brit Awards went out with something of a COVID-restricted whimper, this year’s ceremony came in with a bang.Several bangs in fact, as an unexpected mash-up between emo-metal hybrid Bring Me The Horizon and Ed Sheeran on the latter’s “Bad Habits” launched the show to, no doubt, the bewilderment of mums and dads tuning in at home and expecting the nice, ginger-next-door they usually see at events like this. The arena, however, was ablaze — quite literally, as the unlikely collaborators became the first of several performers to torch the stage.Held at The O2 Arena in south London, this year’s Brits — unlike last year’s event — took place in a country that is largely free of COVID restrictions.

Adele was praised by fans for an 'iconic' performance at the BRIT Awards 2022 just week after her Las Vegas shows were cancelled.
