Documentary Filmmaker Gianfranco Rosi: ‘I Don’t Believe in Observational Cinema’

Super LTD, Neon's boutique distribution division, has acquired the North American rights to Gianfranco Rosi’s documentary Notturno after a debut at Venice and play at the virtual Telluride, Toronto, New York film festivals. The film, shot over three years across Lebanon, Iraq, Kurdistan and Syria, was named by Italy to represent the country in the 2021 Oscar best international feature race.

Neon’s boutique label Super Ltd has acquired North American distribution rights to Notturno, the feature documentary from Gianfranco Rosi that recently was submitted by Italy to be that country’s submission to the 2021 International Oscar race.
