A doctor who asked a Muslim woman to take off her veil and criticised her English skills during an appointment has been found guilty of misconduct.
Dr Keith Wolverson is currently waiting to find out what disciplinary action he will face - which could include a suspension or being struck off.
However, the practitioner has said he will carry on seeing his patients, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.
The Medical Practitioner's Tribunal Service (MPTS) ruled during a hearing this week that Dr Wolverson had made "inappropriate" notes on patients' language abilities at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
It is found that he had acted wrongfully by asking one patient, referred to as Mrs Q, to remove her veil to help with communication before criticising her English language skills in an email to fellow employees.
The tribunal deemed that she spoke good English, had made it clear that she did not wish to remove it, and that it was not necessary during the consultation.
The MPTS ruled that Dr Wolverson's offences amounted to serious misconduct. It added that he had taken no remedial work to improve his conduct, nor had he developed insight into the distress caused to Mrs Q by the request to remove her veil, which was repeated three times.
Derbyshire Live spoke briefly to Dr Wolverson, of Derby Private Doctors aesthetics clinic in the Derbyshire village of Melbourne. He declined the opportunity to give his side of the story and told us that he would continue to treat patients.
He faced 28 allegations of misconduct, including 16 relating to the incident with Mrs Q. A total of 17 were found proved, including 13 relating to the incident involving the veil.
On May 13, 2018, during a consultation with Mrs Q, he asked her to remove her veil as he
