DNCE Is Returning with New Music!

New Music Friday! It's every audiophile's favorite day of the week, and some of our favorite artists from all different genres have blessed us with new tunes.Two indie rock queens and a punk rock princess made their triumphant returns this week, as Florence and the Machine and Regina Spektor both dropped new singles and Avril Lavigne released her seventh studio album.

After a three-year hiatus, DNCE is back with new music!

Jamie Lang Netflix has shared details on its next Brazilian original series, “O Cangaceiro do Futuro,” a comedy caper starring Edmilson Filho (“O Shaolin do Sertão,” “Cine Holliúdy”) and Chandelly Braz (“Now Generation,” “Sparkling Girls “) which will hit the platform later this year.Glaz, which previously collaborated with Netflix on “Get the Goat,” produces the series, which was created by Halder Gomes (“O Shaolin do Sertão,” “Cine Holliúdy”), a writer-director-producer who has worked many times with “O Cangaceiro do Futuro” lead Filho, achieving popular success in both theatrical features and TV.Filming has already wrapped on the series, which shot in the rural town of Quixadá, in Ceará, Northeast Brazil, before wrapping in São Paulo. The show’s shoot and incorporation of talent such as Gomes, from Caerá capital Fortaleza, are examples of Netflix’s “goal to expand to all regions of Brazil,” as Elisabetta Zenatti, VP, Brazilian Content, announced last November.  The series turns on Virguley (Filho), a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none who is struggling to make ends meet in the big city, every day farther away from his dream of becoming rich and returning to his home in the Northeast.While between jobs, Virguley gets by thanks to a striking resemblance to Lampião, likely the twentieth century’s most successful bandit leader and the face of the Cangaço era.

Zoë Kravitz has given an update on the “vulnerable” new solo music she’s making with Jack Antonoff.The actress and musician previously told AnOther magazine back in October that she’d been recording with Antonoff “for a couple of years, on and off”.Speaking in a new interview with Elle, Kravitz has now spoken further about working with the Bleachers musician at Electric Lady Studios in New York.“It feels vulnerable, and it’s a little scary, but making music makes me happy,” Kravitz said about the project. Elle notes that the forthcoming music “explores love and loss, among other themes she’s still discovering”.Kravitz told AnOther last year that Antonoff is “a fantastic producer – he’s so good at really tapping into who he’s working with and not making it about him”.“Some producers want to make it about … like, ‘I’m going to put my sound on you’.

The song, teased on Monday, is produced by Kanye West and 88-Keys, and features a sample of Fat Joe saying “Yesterday’s price is not today’s price.” 88 Keys explained on Instagram Live that the instrumental was originally made 18 years ago and was meant to be an interlude for one of his beat tapes.

Pusha T has returned with new single ‘Diet Coke’, his first for the year. The track was produced by 88-Keys and Push’s longtime collaborator Kanye West, with West also among the track’s co-writers.An early version of the beat that underscores ‘Diet Coke’ was originally created by 88-Keys 18 years ago, as an interlude for his beat tape ‘The Makings of Crack Cocaine’.“Imaginary players ain’t been coached right / Master recipes under stove lights,” Push raps on the track’s refrain.
