Director Lars von Trier ‘in good spirits’ after Parkinson’s disease diagnosis

Charlotte Crosby has revealed she found a lump in her own body after her mum Letitia announced she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The 32 year old, who is expected her first child with boyfriend Jake Ankers, was shocked when her mum, 53, explained she had no symptoms or lumps when doctors told her. And the news, while difficult to swallow, made the pregnant TV star "so much more aware" of her own body, which led to the discovery of a lump in her breast.

Nick Vivarelli International Correspondent When Angelina Jolie read Alessandro Baricco’s short novel “Without Blood” — the basis for her next directorial effort — the Italian fable about the brutality of war and healing in its aftermath had an immediate  therapeutic effect.  “I read it right as I was going through the beginning of a very dark time in my life. I read it in the month that followed my divorce [from Brad Pitt in 2016],” recalls Jolie, who shot the adaptation at Rome’s Cinecittà Studios. “It had the effect on me that it’s had on so many people,” Jolie says, noting that the blurb on the cover says that the book is about the complexity of the human condition.

The third installment of The Kingdom trilogy, the medical horror finale marks MUBI’s first series. It will roll out exclusively on the platform in the fall.

German film director Wolfgang Petersen has died at age 81. He died peacefully Friday at his Brentwood residence from pancreatic cancer, in the arms of his wife of 50 years, Maria Antoinette.

Though he’s often branded as a provocateur, with some of his more brash, problematic comments, there’s no denying that Lars von Trier is one of the most unique voices in modern film.
