‘The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die’ Review: Long-Running Historical TV Saga Ably Concludes With a Feature-Length Finale

Catherine Bray Set mostly in England, back before it was officially called England — and centuries before Great Britain was so much as a glint in the eye of James I — director Ed Bazalgette’s workmanlike historical epic “The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die” wraps up the events of “The Last Kingdom,” the Netfix drama series based on Bernard Cornwell’s “Saxon Tales” novels. Playing like “Game of Thrones” with more history and fewer dragons, the film opens with several smaller kingdoms, including Northumbria, Mercia and East Anglia, gearing up for a power struggle exacerbated by the recent death of Alfred the Great, king of Wessex, and worsened by the surreptitious attempts of the Danes to sow discord.

Diddy says he was joking about paying Sting $5k a day

Diddy last week clarified in a tweet that he was now paying Sting “5k a day”.Both that remark, and the 2018 interview, implied that Diddy was actually sending Sting daily cheques, which obviously isn’t the case. It’s just that whenever ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ is played, the song royalties that are due are collected by Sting and his publisher Universal. But maybe Diddy has insider knowledge on how much that nets Sting and Universal? And maybe with the streaming boom the song royalties generated by ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ are now topping five grand a day.

No, Diddy Doesn't Really Pay Sting $5,000 Per Day for Sampling His Song Without Permission

Diddy had everyone running to their calculators for no reason, it turns out, after the rap mogul revealed there's no truth behind him dishing $5,000 per day for sampling one of Sting's songs without his permission. Diddy on Friday took to social media and let it be known that he was only being «facetious» when chimed in after Sting, in a newly resurfaced 2018 interview with, said rumors that Diddy was paying him $2,000 per day «for the rest of his life» for sampling his song without his permission were true.Diddy now says, not so much.«I want y’all to understand I was joking! It’s called being Facetious! Me and @OfficialSting have been friends for a long time! He never charged me $3K or $5K a day for Missing You. He probably makes more than $5K a day from one of the biggest songs in history.

Diddy says he was “joking” about being forced to pay Sting $5,000 a day for the rest of his life

Diddy has backtracked over comments he made in which he said he was forced to pay Sting £4,020 ($5,000) each day for the rest of his life.Earlier this week, the rapper responded to a re-surfaced interview with the musician in which The Police frontman said he received royalties for their hit 1983 single, ‘Every Breath You Take’, which Diddy sampled in one of his most famous tracks, ‘I’ll Be Missing You’.The hip-hop icon was said to have been forced to pay the ongoing fee after sampling the track without permission in 1997.Diddy then tweeted to confirm that he pays Sting “5k a day.”But today (April 7) the rapper took to Twitter to set the record straight and said his previous tweet was a joke.He wrote: “I want y’all to understand I was joking! It’s called being facetious! Me and @OfficialSting have been friends for a long time! Diddy pays Sting $5K every day for sample on Biggie memorial track

costing Diddy big time. For sampling Sting’s 1983 “Every Breath You Take” track on 1997 Biggie Smalls tribute “I’ll Be Missing You,” music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is said to be forever indebted to the rock star — to the tune of $5,000 a day. “5k a day. Love to my brother [Sting],” tweeted Diddy, 53, in part, Wednesday, seemingly confirming his eternal obligation to the Police frontman. Neither representatives for Diddy nor Sting immediately responded to The Post’s request for a comment. But in his Twitter admission, Diddy, a native New Yorker, reposted a clip that featured Sting, 71, discussing the perpetual payment during a 2018 appearance on Power 105.1 FM’s “The Breakfast Club.”The tweet, which amassed more than 7.6 million views, came as a correction to Sting telling the morning show host Charlamagne Tha God that Diddy had to pay him $2,000 a day for co-opting his Grammy-winning hit.

Former Luigi Actor John Leguizamo Says ‘Hell No’ to Watching ‘Super Mario Bros. Movie’ Due to Casting: ‘They Messed Up the Inclusion’

Zack Sharf Digital News Director John Leguizamo is doubling down on criticizing Universal and Illumination’s animated film “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” which casts Chris Pratt and Charlie Day in the leading voice roles of Mario and Luigi. Leguizamo brought Luigi to life in a live-action format opposite Bob Hoskins’ Mario in 1993’s “Super Mario Bros.” The actor told TMZ on the day “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” opened in theaters that he won’t be watching it due to the casting. “No I will not [be watching]. They could’ve included a Latin character,” Leguizamo said. “Like I was groundbreaking and then they stopped the groundbreaking. They messed up the inclusion. They dis-included. Just cast some Latin folk! We’re 20% of the population. The largest people of color group and we are underrepresented.”

Diddy says he pays Sting $5k per day for “I’ll Be Missing You”

Passive income, the act of making money from investments, properties, or anything that doesn't involve a lot of work, is a big deal to the kind of finance bros who love to make TikToks about their grindset. Sting doesn't strike me as someone who has ever even heard the phrase "side hustle" and yet it seems he's sitting on a pretty sweet one. Essentially having Diddy pay him $5k a day for the rights to his 1983 single “Every Breath You Take.” That is how much Diddy claims he pays Sting for his role in "I’ll Be Missing You," the 1997 single written in honor of the late Notorious B.I.G.

Sting is raking in the royalties with every breath he takes. According to Diddy, he pays the 71-year-old musician a whopping $5,000 per day for sampling one of his songs without permission. «Every Breath You Take,» written by Sting and released by his band, The Police, in 1983, was famously used in Diddy's and Faith Evans' 1997 tribute to the late The Notorious B.I.G., titled «I'll Be Missing You.» In a newly resurfaced 2018 interview with The Breakfast Club, Sting confirmed rumors that Diddy was paying him $2,000 per day «for the rest of his life» for his use of the song without asking. Sting added, «We're good friends now.» On Wednesday, however, Diddy took to Twitter to correct that number to $5,000 per day. «Nope.
