‘Devil May Cry’ Anime Series, Based On Videogame, Set At Netflix From Adi Shankar

EXCLUSIVE: After a stellar run in theaters that saw it come in as the highest-grossing film in the history of Sony Pictures Animation, Sony’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has set its Netflix premiere date. One of the top grossers of the year at a take of over $690M worldwide, the film bows in the U.S. on October 31. Details as to rollout in other territories haven’t been disclosed.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter “Gargoyles” could finally be returning to television, with a live-action reboot series currently in the works at Disney+. Variety has confirmed that the Disney streaming service is working with writer Gary Dauberman and James Wan‘s Atomic Monster to develop a live-action version of the beloved animated show. Dauberman would serve as writer and executive producer with Wan also executive producing.

“Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” wasn’t a box office banger, but the Toronto-set comic book movie eventually got a lot of attention post-release thanks to the popular manga it was based on, a fun soundtrack, and a visually striking throwback tie-in brawler video game.

Netflix dropped the full trailer for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, the anime series based on the graphic novels created by Bryan Lee O’Malley. The series premieres on the streamer starting November 17. Watch the preview in the video posted above.

Prime Video on Saturday unveiled the main cast for its upcoming adult animation series Hazbin Hotel. Prime Video today released the official Season 2 trailer for Robert Kirkman‘s adult animated superhero series Invincible from Skybound Entertainment.
