Denise Welch has surprised her Loose Women co-stars after revealing her first name to the panel. On Thursday's episode, the panel were talking about who should get the final say on deciding baby names, with each of them sharing their own views and experiences.
But it was Denise, 64, who stirred the strongest reaction from her other panellists, talking about her children's names before revealing her name at birth was actually Jacqueline Denise Welch. Denise started by saying: "To be honest, with the boys' names, Matt or Matthew that's fine, he now [goes by] Matty, and Louis is a name I've always loved and my mum and dad had a friend called Louis and their dad was fine with that.
"Me, I'm Jacqueline Denise." Charlene White quickly interjected asking: "Is Denise not your name?" Denise continued: "No, but I was never brought up as Jacqueline, so my mother - according to dad - was going through a "French phase", and loved the idea of "Jacqueline Denise. "And basically she thought Jacqueline Denise flowed better than Denise Jacqueline, which is annoying because I've been brought up that.
"So I could be in the doctors and I can say "my name is Denise Welch, oh wait it's Denise Townley, oh wait it might be Jacqueline Denise Welch" and it drives me mad. "I've actually taken it off my passport but it's still on some things." This comes as her Loose Women co-star, Stacey Solomon, decided to have a second hen do just for her and her fellow panellists.
Stacey, 32, jetted off on her hen do last Wednesday, turning up at the airport in a pickle costume, of all things - but it turns out there is another hen night is on the cards, with Denise spilling the beans. Speaking at the TRIC Awards – which OK! was the media partner for – Denise
