Denise Van Outen has revealed she’s trying out dating apps following her split from Eddie Boxshall back in January. And in a swipe at ex Eddie, TV presenter Denise, 48, who has also opened up about having therapy and her worries over her daughter Betsy, has admitted she’s now looking for a “man with a job”. Speaking to Fearne Cotton on her podcast Happy Place, Denise seemed to confirm she’s ready to give love another chance as she said she “downloaded a dating app the other day”.
She shared: “I haven’t gone on it. I’m so scared! It would be my first ever [online dating]. I don’t know if it’s for me.
It’s so weird.” Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter. She continued: “I downloaded it and then I felt really awkward about it and I just thought, ‘I don’t know if I can do this’. I know it is the modern way, but I’m also very old fashioned.
Like my morals, my values, the way I approach relationships – it’s so old fashioned. “That’s also one of the issues that I’ve probably got. My parents have been together forever, so that’s my benchmark.
For me, I think it’s all a bit of a Disney fantasy, and the reality is that it’s not like that.” Denise added that it’s “hard work”, as she continued: “I’m getting there. I’ll be ready soon, I just don’t know if I’m ready to swipe just yet.” On what she’s looking for, she then said: “One with a job this time please!” The actress split from Eddie, 48, in January after even years together. She called time on the romance after he was reportedly caught messaging another woman.
