Five high schoolers named National Student Poets

NEW YORK -- Five high school juniors, residing everywhere from Lake Worth, Florida, to Saratoga, California, have been named National Student Poets. A partnership between the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the nonprofit Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the student poet program was launched in 2011, with winners contributing to community programs and and poetry events and performing their work everywhere from Lincoln Center to the White House.

N.Y. Times Names Executive Producer for Scripted in Hollywood Expansion

In a move expanding the news outlet's presence in Hollywood, The New York Times has named Caitlin Roper executive producer for scripted projects. Roper, who has been a senior editor at The New York Times Magazine since 2016, will develop Times stories for film and TV, "developing and producing alongside Hollywood producers using our stories as the launching point for fictional projects," Times assistant managing editor Sam Dolnick wrote in a memo to staff Monday morning.
