DI Neville Parker will be exiting Death in Paradise in upcoming scenes, it's been reported. Actor Ralf Little is reportedly leaving his role in the BBC drama after five years. Ralf, 44, has been playing DI Neville Parker since 2020.
He will make his final appearance in Sunday's (24 March) episode, in a storyline which sees Neville continue his quest to find love. A show source told the Mirror: “Ralf has been brilliant in the role and he’s given it a good long run. Fans are sure to be sad to see him go but they’ll also be happy for Neville.” His exit means producers will recast the lead in the show.
Death in Paradise, based on the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie, changes up its British detective character every few seasons and has previously starred Ben Miller, Kris Marshall and Ardal O'Hanlon. Over recent weeks there has been mounting speculation from fans that much-loved Neville could be on the way out. Ralf addressed the rumours in a recent Instagram Q&A session.
The 44-year-old said: "I don't know. I have no idea, I'm not gonna swerve answering the question. I don't know.
I don't know which direction they're gonna go in. I have honestly no idea and they haven't told me. Maybe they had no idea yet.
I, like the rest of you, are going to be just sitting and asking, 'Who's next? Who knows? No idea. But we'll see what happens."
