Nottingham Forest have provisionally agreed a deal to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson on a season-long loan.
Henderson, 25, is on honeymoon after getting married and is due to have a medical when he returns to complete the transfer.
Newcastle were interested in Henderson and the England international held such encouraging talks he hoped to secure a move to St James' Park in May. Henderson was then dropped from the United squad for their final game of the season at Crystal Palace.

Newcastle have instead signed an identical profile of 'keeper to Henderson in his England teammate Nick Pope. Burnley had not been relegated at the time Newcastle held initial discussions with Henderson and their Championship status made the £10million deal straightforward for Pope, also a long-term addition.
United were also unconvinced by the proposal of accepting Karl Darlow in a loan exchange involving Henderson. As revealed by the Manchester Evening News last month, United are interested in Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann and have earmarked the Austria international as their prime back-up target.
Bachmann, 27, would compete with Tom Heaton for the number two spot behind David de Gea, whose form last season restricted Henderson to three appearances.
Henderson is contracted to United until 2025 and earns around £100,000-a-week which has made a permanent move prohibitive as he prepares to embark on his sixth loan spell.
De Gea's own future is expected to be addressed after the transfer window closes as the 31-year-old approaches the last year of his contract. United have the option of an additional year to tie De Gea to the club until 2023.
