David Beckham praised by family as he queues for 14 hours to see Queen Lying-in-State

David Beckham has been praised by his family as well as fans after queuing for 14 hours to pay his respects to The Queen as she is Lying-in-State in Westminster Hall. The legendary footballer, 47, who has played for the England national team, didn't use his celebrity status to fast-track the queue of thousands of people waiting to pay their respects to the late Queen.
He's earned himself plenty of praise for his humility, and his second-eldest son Romeo, 20, has reposted an Instagram video posted by Sky Sports in which David is seen talking to people in the queue. Dressed in a black suit with a waistcoat, black tie and a baker boy cap, David rocked his usual short beard as he smiled and engaged with those around him.
One woman asked him: "Have you been waiting long, David?" as a sheepish David said: "A little while". He then revealed that he had been queuing since 2.15am to pay his respects to the late Monarch, who "passed away peacefully" aged 96 on Thursday, 8 September.
One woman in the queue said to him: "You could have been fast-tracked but you've come to pay your respects like everyone else." He replied: "Well, we all want to celebrate our Queen, Her Majesty". People were quick to comment on the video, with one person saying: "What a legend he is".
Another wrote: "Fair play and my respect for joining the queue and paying his respects." Someone else commented: "Mad respect for respecting the queue". David's son Romeo was clearly proud of his dad as he then posted a collage of photos including one of the Queen's coffin Lying-in-State, one of David smiling in his baker boy cap as he queued and one of him without his cap as he looked visibly emotional once inside the ancient hall.
