Comedian and Netflix star David A. Arnold has died at the age of 54.The star of comedic shows such as Meet the Browns (TBS), The Rickey Smiley Show (TV One), Raising Whitley (OWN) passed away peacefully from natural causes, as ruled by a coroner. He leaves behind his wife Julie L Harkness, and two children, Anna-Grace and Ashlyn.The American stand-up comedian, sitcom writer, producer, and actor was just three dates into a comedy tour of the US before his tragic passing on September 7.
David's heartbroken family said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our husband, father, brother and friend, David A. Arnold. "David passed away peacefully today in his home and doctors have ruled the cause of death due to natural causes.
"Please keep our family in prayer and respect our privacy at this time, as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss." David was well-known in the US comedy circuit, having started his comedy career at the Montreal Comedy Festival, and he also appeared on Jamie Foxx’s Laffapalooza. His Netflix stand-up special, David A. Arnold: Fat Ballerina, was released in 2019, earning him plenty more fans and he released his second, titled It Ain’t For The Weak in July this year.
David also created the show That Girl Lay Lay and he worked on Fuller House, the Full House reboot and and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. Tributes have poured in for the comedian, with his close pal Chris Spencer saying: "Our closely knit comedy community mourns the loss of one of the greatest to ever do it.
