This ensemble of actresses will continue through Season 6, the show’s last.Imelda Staunton becomes the third and final actress to play Queen Elizabeth II on the series — this time during the tumultuous 1990s, in which a fire ravaged Windsor Castle, Princess Diana and Prince Charles had a messy divorce and Diana died in a Paris car crash in 1997.One still shows Staunton, 66, as the queen, looking smaller and grayer than her predecessor Olivia Colman, who won an Emmy for playing the part, next to Jonathan Pryce, 75, as Prince Philip.Another sees a sunglasses-and-swimsuit-clad Diana — Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki, 32, takes over from Emma Corrin — on a boat with Charles (Dominic West, 52), and young princes William (Timothee Sambor) and Harry (Teddy Hawley). But her happiness will be revealed as a facade.

The latest series of The Crown will premiere on November 9, Netflix has revealed. The fifth series of the hit show, which dramatises the lives of the Royal Family, will feature storylines surrounding the lives of the then Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
Dominic West, known for his role as Jimmy NcNulty in the Wire, will star as Charles, with Elizabeth Debicki, who featured in the Night Manager, appearing as Diana. Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin had depicted the pair in the previous series.
Imelda Staunton will take over the role of the Queen from Olivia Colman, while Jonathan Pryce replaces Tobias Menzies as the Duke of Edinburgh and Lesley Manville will be Princess Margaret, following in the footsteps of Helena Bonham Carter.

The Crown was due to end after the fifth series, but the show’s creator and writer Peter Morgan later said it will be extended to include a sixth series. Filming on the latest series of The Crown was halted following the death of the Queen and, as a mark of respect, filming was also suspended on the day of the Queen’s funeral.
