Former Eastenders actress Danniella Westbrook has revealed that she is to go under the knife once again as NHS medics undertake around £500,000 worth of reconstructive surgery to help repair her face after years of drug use. The surgery will rebuild the star’s damaged cheekbones and reform her collapsed nose, after she very nearly suffered life threatening complications as a result of the damage caused by her previous substance abuse.The 48 year old star had previously ruled out having surgery as the private fees were too high, but following a health scare last Christmas which left her struggling to breathe and resulted in an intensive care stay, the NHS stepped in to schedule the procedure.

Recently, the star shared snaps of her in a hospital late at night just weeks after she was hospitalised due to a blood infection. She uploaded a video of her walking down an empty corridor late at night, before sharing a snap in a hospital corridor writing "another day another hospital". Just weeks prior, she was rushed to hospital with bloodstream infection septicaemia, which left her bedridden for several days as she recovered from the illness.
A rep for the star told The Sun at the time: "Danniella suffered a sudden health shock. "Thankfully the issue was caught early and dealt with by medical professionals. Danniella has been released from hospital and is home recovering with the support of close family.
