Danniella Westbrook has revealed her beloved bulldog Bruno sadly died and has praised her pal Dan for helping her get through. The former EastEnders actress, who recently shared a "make up-free video" after surgery on her nose, opened up on her heartbreak with a devastating post on her Instagram page. Along with a beautiful snap of the much-loved pooch, who was gazing at the camera with quintessential puppy-dog eyes at the time, the 48 year old star wrote of her sadness at the loss.
"Rest in peace my Bruno Bear," Danniella began alongside a brokenhearted emoji. "You was such a good boy, full of love right till the end. Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter.
"Will miss you so much," the star added sadly, going on to caption the post: "I’m truly devastated that you're gone. Sleep well My Bruno Bear #ripbruno". Unfortunately, the mum-of two hadn't been able to be by Bruno's side when he died, as she'd been attending work commitments for the day.
Leaving her dog with a family friend, Danniella had had no idea what she would be coming home to. "My friend was looking after him while I was at an event," the actress told The Sun. "She had only been in bed an hour when I came home and he was laid in the hallway.
"I was calling him and he wasn't moving. He'd died. He was 13, but it's still horrible.
It's awful." The star went on to tell the publication that she was glad her beloved pup had passed in his sleep, and was grateful he wasn't "ill" or "in pain". Despite that, Danniella went on to share how she was coping following the loss on her Twitter page. "Devastated at losing my Bruno last night..." she said.
