In a new interview with the Daily Beast published Thursday (August 4), the reality star reflected on some of the questions her co-stars had asked in recent episodes about her experience with eating disorders, which some viewers have deemed insensitive.

“I felt embarrassed. Like suddenly the show didn’t exist, and I just felt embarrassed,” she told the outlet. “There’s a feeling of embarrassment being on the show, the idea of being filmed. And then, you know, I got made fun of, as a child, for being chubby. That’s how it felt.”
In a recent episode of the show, Erika Jayne reacted to Crystal sharing details about her eating disorder by suggesting she take laxatives. Later in the night, Erika also told Crystal not to eat a chicken tender that was being offered to her at the party.
“It was very uncomfortable for me,” Crystal said of her interaction with Erika. “Because when she mentioned the laxative, I actually explained that my best friend suffered from that. And I’d discovered that later and she didn’t know it was an eating disorder. She had always known about mine… And then I found out she was doing that. And I was like, you know that’s a problem. So I explained that story.”
She added that some of the questions her castmates had asked her were extremely triggering to her. In a separate episode, Kyle Richards had asked whether she binged and “threw up,” explaining that she felt it was justified for her to ask since she’d had her own experience with an eating disorder.
