Crowds braved what was described as a 'mud bath' at the Bluedot Festival on Sunday (July 23) after organisers were forced to cancel day tickets due to an 'unprecedented amount of rain'.

Posts on social media likened the ground to a 'mud bath' with others opting to leave early due to the conditions. However, many festival-goers were quick to praise the festival for their handling of the situation.

Overnight, they said over 1.5km of additional track mats and 130 tonnes of woodchip were laid down as trucks arrived to pump water away in a desperate bid to solve the problem.
However organisers revealed it had 'reached the point where it is not possible to accommodate further audience vehicles on site' and told Sunday day ticket holders not to travel to the event and that they would be contacted with refund information.
