Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large CrimeCon has announced its call for submissions for the 3rd annual Clue Awards, which will take place on Saturday, June 1, in Nashville, Tenn. The awards ceremony takes place as part of the three-day 2024 CrimeCon at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.
The awards honor true crime storytelling in television, film, podcasts and publishing. Last year, the Gabby Petito Foundation received the annual “Crimefighter of the Year Award” – presented by 2022 honoree The Black and Missing Foundation.
The awards show also recognizes categories including “America’s Greatest Detective” and “People’s Choice: Creator of the Year.” Submissions for the 2024 Clue Awards will be discounted until Feb. 16, with the final deadline for submissions on March 29.
A committee of producers, network and streaming executives determine nominees and winners; this year’s group includes execs and creatives from companies including NBCU, Wondery, Simon & Schuster, Investigation Discovery, Campfire Studios, National Center for Victims of Crime and Law&Crime Network. Among the categories at this year’s Clue Awards are episodic series and docuseries in TV; episodic series and docuseries in podcasting; documentary film; and true crime book.
